“A boy’s story is the best that is ever told.” Charles Dickens
You might need to get your magnifying glass out to spot him, but he’s there! I spent most of the last week in Scotland (look for some waterfalls soon!) when I returned to London the weather was so wonderful I was struck by wanderlust again, I grabbed my camera and headed off to Ramsgate and the beach.
p.s for those of a nervous disposition, this little fellows Mum was close behind him – he never made it to freedom 😉
I love this shot !
wonderful shot, a truly creative hues, combined with a perfect depth, technically I really like the composition with the child so small before the majesty of the sea
Beautifully composed artwork! 🙂
love the minimal compostion….the red dot against the brown sand looks amazing
A superb photograph and of good composition, brilliant!.
I love this – the tiny figure running towards the vast open sea, surrounded by all that space… wonderful! (And I am glad to hear his mother was in hot pursuit!)
Great image, love the composition. It truely tells a story. Very nice.
Brilliantly composed art. I love the feeling of freedom the boy must be feeling.. 🙂 Excellent job!
When I saw this, a line from a song that was popular decades ago popped into my mind: “don’t mess with Mr. In-between.” A close-up of the boy would likely have been captivating. And, there is no doubt that rendering him as a tiny dot in this vast space has a visceral impact. I am just glad you didn’t mess with Mr. In-between. What a beautiful picture and one with genuine staying power.
Wonderful setting for a little boy in red. Your image shows the big expansive world as a child might see it.
WOW! Awesome colors! The clear sky and the boat in the middle on the sea is just astonishing!
For all the vastness of this beautiful beach landscape that young lad, dots of red and tan, give it so much voice, energy and focus. It’s hard sometimes to see the power small details can hold but your vision on this composition was excellent! Lovely shot….it’s good to know his mother was fast on her feet. I dare say she probably needs to be.
Wonderful shot, yesterday i taken one very similar in Paço-de-Arcos, Portugal, but in mine had also apear a peer.
Regards
Very nice minimalistic shot! It reminds me about my childhood and about the holidays I spent on the beach…
schöne Dreiteilung des Bildes, die Zonen harmonieren farblich sehr gut und der Knirps macht das Bild.
Hahahaaa… Freedom and the endless ocean.
Komm geh mit mir zum Meer
Um auf ein Schiff zu gehen
Komm geh mit mir zum Meer
Um in die Welt zu sehen
Komm geh mit mir zum Meer
Um mit der Flut zu gehen
Komm geh mit mir zum Meer
Um in den Sturm zu sehen
Komm geh mit mir zum Meer
Um mit auf Kurs zu gehen
Komm geh mit mir zum Meer
Um neues Land zu sehen
Komm geh mit mir zum Meer
Um Freiheit zu verstehen
Komm geh mit mir zum Meer
Auch wenn wir untergehen
Ferne Welt ich komme…
Unheilig – Das Meer
I like the red dot and the ease of a child.
That tiny figure sits so well amidst the vastness of the overall scene. A brilliant idea, then!
Yup this title and photos does tell a very good story. Reminds me of my childhood on the beach, right up there with a forest as a playground.
superbe !
I love how isolated this one feels, like that little kid is the only one in the world!
This is such a peaceful photograph! I love how it has a sort of vintage-y feel to it. Very nice! : )
Une photo presque nostalgique. La composition est pleine de charme.
