I’m back in London for a few days, and thought what better way to celebrate than with a cake! Actually, it’s technically a cream scone… does that count as a cake? What say you blog visitors?
Check out my gallery of scrummy food photography here.

Yummy!!! perfect DOF for a delicious cake!!
The composition is great too
Lovely, gorgeous bokeh..
I must be irretrievably lost to English gastronomy. For my part, and without your comment, I would have seen here a big mollusk which pulls the tongue. And I would have written : “nice macro.”
Definitely scones such as this can stand on there own without being called a cake. Oh, I do so miss fresh scones with jam and stiff cream — one of my favorite treats during my three years in England. A scone and a cup of good tea.
You photographed it so well my mouth is watering as I type this!
Depending where you are in the UK, we call them scons or scones, me being a Southerner with a proper grasp of the language (ha ha), it is most definitely a scone, and my goodness there are few things finer than a scone with clotted cream, strawberry jam and a pot of Earl grey tea….. except maybe a rub down with a copy of the sporting times by a group of naked nubile nymphets (but I digress…..)
Is it a cake? Some day yay and some say nay, me…. I don’t care when it looks and tastes as good as this! I buy mine from the extra special range in Asda (Walmart), and it’s sold in the cake aisle. Hope you have a great time in London.
Yummy… 🙂
It’s a scone – and please: two pieces for me. And a cup of coffee, black coffee…
If you closed your eyes while eating, it can certainly be a cake! Lovely photograph Martina.
also this one is perfect and delicious 🙂 wonderful point of focus and blur effect
What it all comes down to, Martina, is that it would have been sweet, yummy and filling, and makes an excellent image for your food gallery! (No calories at all in the thing, of course…)
let’s just call it Yummy, this is a great photograph, it I was Winnie the Pooh, I would have a grumbly in my tummy after seeing it.
Yummy ……. nice tone
Da läuft einem das Wasser im Munde zusammen. Tolles Food shot. Die Farbtönung passt sehr gut!
I don’t know if it counts as a cake or not, but it looks delicious!
Cream tea, IS the ultimate cycling elevenses and afternoon tea. It clearly goes under the cake bracket. And should be stopped for while cycling just like a red light.
om nom nom nom! looks so good
appétissant !
Wonderful selective focus in this image. And the subject matter looks delicious.
Excellent picture!
Une photo très professionnelle qui ne manque pas de saveur. Une photo très attirante (…). Parole d’un gourmand.
