A walk in Regents Park the other day provided me with the chance to see some of Tom Harvey’s wonderful animal sculptures up close.
They’re carved from timber, and are very much larger than life. From a distance they cast a wonderful and quite surrealistic mirage on the horizon. Park goers can be forgiven for slowing their pace just a step or two as they approach the oversized fox nestling in grass.
Something I noticed whilst there, is that few passer’s by can resit the urge to go up and touch these wonderful creations- the grain of the wood passing beneath searching fingers. I snapped a few people doing just that and I’ll post the results tomorrow.
Oh, and by the way… I’m glad to be finished with the red series! I enjoyed it immensely, but it’s nice to have freedom to post what ever takes my fancy 😉
Nice perspective, and the wood grain comes through very well
Very nice framing with both sculptures looking at each other. Great processing as well!
love martina, I find your red series very nice. but I can also understand that you want to have the freedom again to post what comes spontaneously in your mind. yet again congratulations for the success of the red series.
The sculpture is seen on location ensure a great experience. here in the photo above all to win the perspective. The figures are somewhat alive. well done.
(sorry for the bad english)

Thanks Martina, I’m really glad you liked the red series. I enjoyed reading everyones comments – and don’t worry if only we all spoke a second language as well as you do. 🙂
More red places at the gray and beautiful sculpture, good photo!.
Wonderful shot – I love the way you’ve captured the connection between the two.
Great shot, beautiful texture – and great craftsman work.
ces deux statues ont l’air de se parler, très bien composé.
Bon week end.
Un très beau cadrage. Un beau résultat noir et blanc…
